Cladorhynchus leucocephalus  

A young Banded Stilt may have either a faint band around the chest or none at all.

Some experts suggest that the full chestnut breast band may indicate an adult bird three years of age or more, and that smudgy or incomplete bands are present on birds of between two and three years of age.*
